He remained invisible for too long to simply vanish without a trace.

The administrator of one of the largest cybercriminal marketplaces operating on the dark web has been extradited to the United States. The suspect is 33-year-old Liridon Masurica, a citizen of Kosovo, known by the alias @blackdb. He was arrested on December 14, 2024, in Kosovo and was handed over to U.S. authorities on May 9, 2025.

Upon arriving in the U.S., Masurica appeared before federal judge Lindsay Saks Griffin on May 12. During the hearing, he was formally charged with five counts of fraudulent use of unauthorized payment instruments and one count of conspiracy to commit such fraud.

According to the U.S. Department of Justice, Masurica was the founder and main administrator of the criminal online platform BlackDB.cc, which had been in operation since 2018. For seven years, the marketplace facilitated illegal trade in stolen credit card data, compromised accounts, and personally identifiable information, primarily of U.S. citizens.

BlackDB served cybercriminal buyers who used the acquired data for financial fraud, including credit card theft, filing of false tax returns, and identity theft.

The investigation was led by the FBI in collaboration with the cybercrime unit of the Kosovo Police. The FBI’s Legal Attaché office in Sofia and the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office of International Affairs also assisted in the arrest and extradition of the suspect.

If convicted on all charges, Masurica faces up to 55 years in federal prison.
