Online platforms in Russia may face a new requirement: the Ministry of Digital Development considers the introduction of age identification of users. The head of the department, Maksut Shadayev, said at the IT breakfast in the framework of SPIEF-2026 that such a topic is included in the nearest agenda of the ministry.
According to Shadayev, the Ministry of Digital Square will definitely face the issue of embedding the mechanisms of age identification in the platforms. The minister noted that Europe and many developed countries are already following the path of strict restrictions, taking into account the age of users.
The head of the department did not disclose the details of possible regulation. Shadayev only said that the Ministry of Digital Development is studying the experience of the online gaming platform Roblox, where age identification is already being used.
On the same IT-morrow, the minister also touched upon the topic of artificial intelligence in the work of officials and teachers. The Ministry of Figures discusses the system of confirming the basic skills of working with AI tools, and for civil servants it allows the inclusion of such competencies in the qualification requirements.
Shadayev compared the ownership of AI tools with the ability to use office programs. According to the minister, it is now difficult to imagine an employee who does not know how to work with an office suite, and with artificial intelligence, the approach should be similar.
Separately, the head of the Ministry drew attention to the situation in education. According to Shadayev, children are already widely using AI assistants, and teachers still lag behind. The minister said that in schools the level of use of such tools reaches 80%.
The Ministry of Finance, together with the Ministry of Education, is considering a comprehensive program to improve the skills of teachers in working with modern AI tools. It is not planned to change the procedure for certification of teachers because of such a program, Shadayev said in an interview with journalists.
Speaking about civil servants, the minister acknowledged that officials are not yet actively used by AI in everyday work, despite the availability of many tools. In his opinion, the problem is not the lack of special platforms, but in the low level of application of artificial intelligence in routine tasks.
