Greeded to someone else's information will have to moderate their appetites.

Google is preparing noticeable changes for Google Play, which will affect both developers and owners of the application. The company decided to simultaneously reduce the access of programs to confidential user data and close the loopholes used by scammers when transferring accounts. The new measures will begin to introduce in stages, and some of the requirements will become mandatory in the coming months.
One of the main innovations concerns access to the contact list. In Android, Contact Picker will appear - a built-in tool through which the user can transfer only the selected contacts to the application, and not the entire address list as a whole. Google explained that this approach should reduce the collection of unnecessary data and make the operation of the applications more transparent.
For programs that need contacts only for invitations, data exchange or one-time search, Contact Picker and other private alternatives will become the main option. ReADA_CONTACTS resolution will be left only for cases where without full access the application really can not work.
Similar changes will affect geolocation. Android will get a new button for querying an exact location during one-time actions, for example, when searching for a store or adding a geotag to a photo. Instead of the usual dialog options for requesting permissions, the system will offer a simpler scenario in which the user will be able to quickly understand what data the application requests and for how long.
Google is going to demand such a mechanism from applications that need accurate geolocation only temporarily. If the service needs constant access to the location, the developer will have to separately justify such a need through a special statement in the Play Console.
The company will also expand the verification tools for developers. By October, Android Studio will have clues on Google Play politicians, which will help you to understand in advance whether the application is subject to new requirements. From October 27, the Play Console will begin to work with preliminary checks warning of possible violations of the rules related to contacts and geolocation, even before sending the application for moderation.
A separate block of changes concerns the transfer of developer accounts. Google launches the official mechanism of changing the owner of the account in Play Console. The function is designed for transactions, mergers and other business operations, in which you need to safely transfer the control of applications. From May 27, any such operations should go through a new tool.
Unofficial schemes, including the transfer of logins and passwords or the sale of accounts on third-party sites, will prohibit the company. Each account transfer will additionally accompany the mandatory seven-day security period so that the team has time to notice and cancel a suspicious attempted seizure.
Bennett Manuel of Google said that the company wants to make the publication and support of applications more predictable, and the protection of user data is more rigid, not complicated by the lives of developers.
