⚜️Industry Experts Oppose New Licensing Regulations

The Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP) has issued a negative opinion on a proposed law requiring distribution licenses for streaming platforms. According to their estimates, the industry could face losses of 1.6 billion rubles due to licensing costs for existing content libraries.

🚀A Surge in Licensing Requirements

Analysts predict that the number of required distribution licenses could increase 15 to 20 times, placing immense strain on both the Ministry of Culture and streaming platforms. This bureaucratic burden could significantly slow content availability and drive up operational expenses.

⚡Tens of Thousands of Titles at Risk

Industry specialists warn that nearly all TV series and around 50,000 pieces of content from current streaming catalogs would fall under these new restrictions. If implemented, the regulation could reshape the streaming market, forcing platforms to navigate complex and costly licensi
ng hurdles.
