Fans of unfair play in Grand Theft Auto V were themselves in an unpleasant role. The Atlas Menu service, which sold cheats for the popular network game, hacked, and the data of thousands of users were in the public domain.

The website of Have I Been Pwned, which tracks data leaks, confirmed that the service was hacked. According to him, in other people’s hands got e-mail addresses, usernames, encrypted passwords, IP addresses and correspondence with the support service. In total, the leak affected almost 64 thousand accounts.

The situation looks especially ironic against the backdrop of the promises of Atlas Menu itself. On the official website, the service stated about the “safe authentication” and “increased confidentiality” due to modern encryption methods. When this material was released, the Atlas Menu website was unavailable.

The person who took responsibility for the hack, posted the allegedly stolen data on GitHub. Judging by the published reports, the motive could be revenge on the fraudster. The owners of Atlas Menu did not respond to requests for comment.

Atlas Menu offered Grand Theft Auto V players various dishonest features. In the commercial on the website of the service showed invisibility, a “super jump”, allowing the character to jump above the usual, as well as a flight on the map.

The main blow was not on the game itself, but on those who registered in Atlas Menu for the sake of cheats. The leak can reveal users who have tried to gain an advantage over other players. In recent years, cheats have turned into a large shadow market, where individual services earn on the fact that players want to circumvent the rules.

Atlas Menu was not the first such service, which itself was the victim of a hack. A few years ago, it was reported about the data leak of the popular cheating service for Counter-StrikeCounter-Strike: Global Offensive.
