Information Security
The Pentest Award for ethical hackers has opened its call for applications in two thousand twenty-six.
What is the Pentest Award?
The Pentest Award is an industry award for penetration testing professionals, presented annually by Avillix. The main goal of the award is to recognize outstanding specialists and highlight their contribution to the development of the Russian penetration testing community. The event will take place for the third time.
“Out of Scope” Nomination
“Out of Scope” recognizes unconventional findings and discoveries in offensive cybersecurity that fall outside the boundaries of other nominations. This includes custom tools, original research, methodologies, and any other significant achievements in information security.
If your case doesn’t fit into the standard categories but is still worth attention, this nomination is for you.
Anti-Nomination: “Watch Out for the Rake!”
The anti-nomination “Watch Out for the Rake!” is dedicated to the most valuable failures and hard-learned lessons in information security.
These are cases where things didn’t go as planned:
a production outage, uncontrolled privilege escalation, accidentally creating an exploit with critical consequences, or other technical failures.
What matters most is not the mistake itself, but the conclusions drawn from it — insights that can help others avoid making the same mistakes.
There are no traditional prize places in this nomination. Instead, we select three of the most educational cases that bring the greatest benefit to the community. The winners receive symbolic but heartfelt gifts in recognition of their contribution to shared professional experience.
