In 2024, the Rosseti Group suffered over 1.3 billion rubles in losses due to unauthorized cryptocurrency mining operations. Throughout the year, 130 cases of illegal power connections and unregistered electricity consumption were uncovered.
Law enforcement agencies have received the case materials, leading to the initiation of more than 40 criminal investigations. Those found guilty face potential prison sentences.
The most significant financial losses were recorded in:
Rosseti Northern Caucasus – exceeding 600 million rubles,
Rosseti Novosibirsk – around 400 million rubles,
Rosseti Center and Volga Region – approximately 120 million rubles.
