Last week, Google announced it had suffered a data breach – the latest attack by the ShinyHunters hacking group, which has been targeting Salesforce CRM in recent months.

The compromised data included company names, phone numbers, and "related notes" used by managers to contact clients again.

While Google has not disclosed the number of victims, the hackers told reporters they stole approximately 2.55 million records from the company and then demanded a ransom of 20 bitcoins (approximately $2.3 million at the current exchange rate).
