The bankrupt cryptocurrency exchange FTX plans to repay $1.9 billion to its clients in September 2025. On August 15, the company's staff will compile a list of creditors eligible for compensation. This list will include traders who, for various reasons, did not receive payouts during previous distributions. User funds will begin to be transferred on September 30.

The funds will be distributed by FTX’s compensation service providers — BitGo, Kraken, and Payoneer. According to company representatives, the money will be sent to individuals who meet the requirements and whose applications have been approved.

To receive compensation, creditors must register on one of the three platforms (BitGo, Kraken, or Payoneer), complete identity verification, and fill out the required tax forms.

Residents of Russia, China, and other countries with restricted digital asset circulation are unlikely to receive compensation due to cited legal risks. Because of this, Chinese national Weiwei Ji is trying to obtain compensation for himself and fellow victims through the courts.

This year, FTX has already made two rounds of repayments: between $6.5 billion and $7.5 billion in February, and more than $5 billion in May. In total, the firm plans to return $14.5 billion to creditors, making the September payout potentially the final one.
