❗️ Cloudflare mitigated a record-breaking 5.6 Tbps DDoS attack

⚠️ Cloudflare specialists reported the largest DDoS attack to date, with a power of up to 5.6 Tbps. The attack was carried out using the Mirai botnet, which consists of 13,000 compromised devices.

According to Cloudflare, the attack lasted only 80 seconds, had virtually no impact on the victim company, and triggered no alerts, as the incident was detected and resolved autonomously.

As a reminder, the previous record for DDoS attacks was set in the fall of 2024. Then, the attack power reached 3.8 Tbps and 2.14 billion packets per second (PPS).
