Finance Ministry forecasts CFA growth, while experts warn of threats.

Web3 Tech and Positive Technologies have initiated a collaboration in the field of cybersecurity for distributed systems. The main focus is on protecting digital financial assets (CFA), including smart contract audits and vulnerability detection in application-level solutions.

The partnership aims to combine Web3 Tech’s technological capabilities with Positive Technologies' expertise in analyzing the security of blockchain-based solutions. Clients will benefit from both infrastructure support and comprehensive vulnerability assessments. The cooperation is geared toward large private and government organizations.

A significant portion of Web3 solution clients are financial sector companies working with CFAs. Estimates suggest that the Russian CFA market has already reached 1 trillion rubles. The Russian Ministry of Finance expects this sector to grow significantly in the coming years and identifies it as a strategic priority.

According to Positive Technologies, in 2024 alone, approximately $1.5 billion was stolen globally from Web3 infrastructures. The main attack vectors include exploiting access control vulnerabilities and compromising private keys. Attackers also actively exploit flaws in smart contracts — such as business logic errors, weak random number generation, and poor access control mechanisms.

It is expected that both the number of attacks and the associated damage will increase alongside the growth of the market. Most attacks target the implementation of blockchain infrastructure rather than the technology itself, as these require lower levels of skill and specialized knowledge.

Experts also predict an expanded attack surface for smart contracts due to similarities with vulnerabilities common in traditional IT systems. At the same time, attackers continue to rely on social engineering techniques to gain initial access.

Web3 Tech CEO Artyom Kalikhov emphasized that the digital asset market demands a secure environment, and the partnership with Positive Technologies will enable them to offer clients comprehensive protection solutions. Positive Technologies’ Consulting Director Yulia Voronova highlighted the importance of auditing and vulnerability management in emerging CFA-related infrastructures.
