This is a thread I created for a different forum, but I guess spreading knowledge doesn't hurt. I recently now freshened it up.
Introduction
A while back I found a thread by some member on a different forum. He asked,
«How can i fix colors in photoshop because they are really different than on computer and web?»
So this is an issue I have looked in to a lot because I work a lot with professional photos (I don't take pics, I suck at that). We publish a lot of them on the web, and only a month or two back I noticed how absolutely shit an image looked, so I just had to look it up and learn about it. Here's a summary of what I have learned.
I was about to write a reply to it when I realized that this might be an interesting topic to not only cover, but also discuss.
This thread is split up in 4 sections; "Colour bit depth", "Gamut", “The Web”, then at the bottom "Summary".
You can read through it all, or skip to a title you that seem intriguing to read about.
There may be some incorrect things here and there, or something not fully correct. Feel free to correct that. If possible, also include something to back up your claims, as it will help prove you’re not just wrong yourself too.
