The FSB reported on the prevention of a terrorist attack against the leaders of Roskomnadzor. According to the FSB Public Relations Center, the attack was being prepared for April 18, 2026 and involved an explosion of a car using an explosive device.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that supporters of the right-wing and neo-fascist ideology, recruited by the Ukrainian special services through Telegram, were involved in the preparation. In Moscow, Ufa, Novosibirsk and Yaroslavl detained seven suspects. The alleged head of the group, according to the department, was destroyed by armed resistance.
During the searches, the suspects found improvised explosive devices weighing 1 kg, an F-1 grenade, a Makarov pistol with a device for silent shooting, two gas pistols, radios, neo-Nazi paraphernalia, symbols of Ukrainian paramilitary groups and instructions for entering a Ukrainian terrorist organization banned in Russia.
The investigation opened criminal cases on the illegal trafficking of weapons and explosive devices. The issue of bringing the detainees to justice for preparation for the terrorist attack is still being resolved.
The FSB also said that the Ukrainian special services are trying to disrupt the work of Roskomnadzor to ensure the security of the information space, including the blocking of Telegram. According to the agency, the messenger is massively used for sabotage, extremist activity, cyber fraud and other serious crimes.
