Google will start saving more data on how people search for information through its services. Under the new rule will fall pictures from Google Lens Lens, voice queries, recordings from the Search Live function, as well as phrases uttered in “Google Translator”. The company will be able to use these materials to develop its services, including artificial intelligence models.

Google has reported changes to users by email. All images, files, audio and video that a person uses when searching will fall into a new section of Search Services History settings. The company’s website clarifies that it will include not only ordinary voice queries, but also recordings from the real-time search tool Search Live, as well as audio from Google Translator.

Google argues that the new history of search services will help “provide, develop and improve” the company’s products. Among such tasks are directly called models of artificial intelligence. In addition, they will be used for personal recommendations and advertising if the user has a new setting of Personalized recommendations.

At the same time, Google will leave the opportunity to refuse to save such data. The user will be able to disable Search Services History and separately turn off the Save Media option if it does not want the company to store images, voice recordings, videos and other materials related to the search.

The new settings will be separated from the previous Web & App Activity settings, where the part of the search history and individual switches used to save voice recordings and visual search. If a user has already banned Google from saving search history through Web & App Activity, after the search Services History transition will remain turned off.

The company also promises to postpone the previous personalization settings. New sections will appear from users in the coming months.
