The market is betting on functions that will no longer be able to simply brush off.

Gadgets are increasingly trying to become not just a screen in your pocket or a sensor on the hand, but a personal assistant who himself understands the context and performs a chain of action. Manufacturers rely on such functions as a new reason to update the device, although some buyers still do not trust the built-in AI and is in no hurry to pay for it more.

Counterpoint Research прогнозируетpredicts that by 2027, more than 80% of premium smartphones will receive angries AI capabilities. In general, in the market, such functions will appear in about every third smartphone sold. Growth will go not only at the expense of models more than $ 600, but also due to devices of the middle and medium-high segments costing from 250 to 600 dollars.

Under the agent of the security of the Counterpoint AI means a smartphone that is able to run software agents. Such systems take into account the context, plan actions, make decisions and perform multi-step tasks for the user. Therefore, manufacturers are no longer enough just to add a neuroprocessor. New devices need high memory bandwidth and stable performance with long-term AI loads.

According to Counterpoint, MediaTek was the first to bring such features to the market in the Dimensity 9400 chips. Qualcomm then introduced support for agency AI in the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 5. Analysts believe that this began a new cycle of smartphone development, where ordinary AI assistants give way to more autonomous functions.

For manufacturers, the rate on AI looks comfortable also because of the rise in memory prices, which puts pressure on the cost of smartphones. New opportunities help to explain more expensive devices to customers. Counterpoint Vice President Peter Richardson believes that a large market will open when the angries are massively reached the middle-class models.

With wearable Counterpoint devices, a similar scenario is waiting. The share of AI-enabled gadgets could grow from 30% in 2025 to almost 80% by 2032. We are talking about smart watches, headphones, fitness trackers, medical sensors and smart rings.

Such devices are increasingly processing data directly on the body, and not send everything to the cloud. Local work helps to quickly recognize gestures, monitor health, take into account the surrounding context and less convey sensitive biometrics to external services.

The most massive categories until 2032 will remain smart watches and wireless headphones. Headphones will get more functions like real-time speech translation, speaker recognition and personal hearing settings. The fastest growth of Counterpoint expects from wearable devices – smart rings that are constantly on the body and can track the pulse, sleep and signs of stress.

Overall, Counterpoint predicts that revenue from wearable AI devices will grow by an average of 21% per year until 2032. Therefore, for producers, such innovations are very beneficial.
